College Students Explore Business Programs at Deac for a Día Event

The Wake Forest University School of Business hosted Deac for a Día on February 24 on the Reynolda campus. The one-day event was designed to immerse Hispanic and Latinx prospective and admitted students into the Wake Forest School of Business and showcase how the School’s MS in Management, MS in Business Analytics, and MS in Accountancy programs can further prepare students for successful careers in business. Attendees had the opportunity to network with current graduate students, program faculty, admission staff, and career coaches and learned more about the pre-experience graduate business programs and student life at Wake Forest.
Connecting with others through shared stories, memories, and identities provides a sense of belonging and creates community, said Victoria Russell, Assistant Director and DEI Lead for Enrollment Management at the School of Business. “This is something I experienced at Wake Forest as an undergraduate and this is at the very heart of Deac for a Día. Having a community where you can express yourself and your experiences is essential.”
The Wake Forest Master of Science in Accountancy degree is recognized as one of the top in the country. The program offers career tracks in assurance services, financial transaction services (exclusive to WFU), and tax consulting. The Wake Forest Master of Science in Management degree is designed specifically for non-business majors and business minors who want to further develop their skills and business acumen to excel in today’s marketplace. The curriculum provides students with instruction that emphasizes managerial skills and exposure to real-word challenges and solutions. The Wake Forest Master of Science in Business Analytics degree develops analysts that can take data from insight to impact. Through the program, students learn the language of business and how to work successfully in teams while effectively communicating the results of their analysis. They also develop critical programming skills such as R, Tableau, SQL and more.
